For over 12 years Dr. Cari Lalande, has worked towards opening a genetics lab where she can provide ordinary people with the knowledge to help them live happier lives with unique and personalized healthcare. Our approach is precision medicine through holistic (whole person) healthcare. Our focus is not on genetic testing alone, rather integration of the results into your life to provide actionable clinical recommendations to your providers and to be your advocate across all your healthcare needs with genetics as the basis for care.
Dr. Cari Lalande

Cari is a licensed clinical pharmacist with a focus on patient-specific medication management through analysis of drug gene interactions. In 2021, she founded Health by Genetics, merging her passion for pharmacogenetics with her commitment to patient care. Cari is dedicated to being a strong patient advocate, ensuring that each of her patients can live life abundantly and achieve their best health outcomes.
Dr. David Klein
Laboratory Director
Dr. David Klein earned his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Hawai’i and has been working and supervising in CLIA approved clinical laboratories since 2006. Dr. Klein started as the Lab Director at Health By Genetics in 2022. He is responsible for the overall operation, compliance, and administration of the laboratory.

Katia is the first face you see when you walk in our door. She maintains smooth daily operations, ensuring that patient interactions are handled with care and professionalism. With strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, she devises innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and support the team. Her commitment to workflow management boosts productivity and fosters a positive, collaborative environment.
Victoria Beahm, M.S.
Laboratory Manager
Victoria (Tori) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations in the laboratory. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition, with her Master's research delving into how certain dietary exposures, specifically to phthalates, impact the cells lining the large intestine. Her work combined elements of toxicology, cell biology, and genetics to understand the molecular changes that occur in these cells.
